Abstract
The efficacy of Acemetacin 60mg tid a day was compaired with that of Indomethacin (25mg tid a day) in 28 patients with Rheumatoid arthritis.
Both indole derivatives show significant improvement in efficacy variable including duration of morning stiffness, disease activity as judged by the examiner and by the patient assessment of total joint pain and feeling. The over all frequency of adverse reactions were significantly higher in the Indomethacin-treated patients, than that in the Acemetaeir_treated patients. There was a trend toward the differences between the two groups.
Both drugs were effective in the treatment of RA and resulted in comparable improvement in efficacy variables.
